Terms & conditions
About these terms
These terms cover the services Blue Digital provides: bFindable, websites, social media management, advertising, Google services, hosting and domains. Using our hosting also means following our acceptable use policy below.
Prices and VAT
Prices are as listed on our website and price list for 2026. Blue Digital is not a VAT vendor: the price you see is the price you pay.
bFindable
bFindable starts with a 6-month initial contract, then runs month to month with 30 days’ notice. Onboarding is a once-off R1,495, or R995 if we already host your website.
Prices assume your website is hosted with Blue Digital. Social media management and domain registration are not included and are billed separately.
Websites and the payment plan
Pay for your website once-off, or pay 50% up front and the balance in 3 equal monthly payments at no extra cost. Monthly amounts are rounded; the final payment is adjusted so the total equals the once-off price.
Every package includes two review rounds before launch. If Blue Digital built your current website, you get 30% off a new website package that replaces it; monthly services are charged at the normal rate.
Social media management
Social media plans are billed monthly. We plan, design, write and schedule your posts, and you approve every post before it goes out.
Advertising
Ad spend is paid by you and billed by the platform directly. Google invoices Google Ads spend directly to you.
Hosting and domains
Hosting is billed monthly and domains yearly, separately from bFindable (hosting is included in bFindable). Domain registration covers the first year; renewal is billed yearly.

Acceptable use policy
This part of our terms explains what you may not do on Blue Digital hosting.
If a website, account, database or anything else on your hosting breaks this policy, we may ask you to change it. We may also disable it. In an emergency, we may make changes ourselves, at our sole discretion.
We update this policy when our services, the internet or the law change, and we may do so at any time. Please check it from time to time.
Seen something that breaks this policy? Email info@bluedigital.com or send us a WhatsApp.
Spam and unsolicited email
We do not tolerate spam. You may not use our network to send commercial messages people did not ask for. This covers email, instant messages, SMS, chat rooms, discussion boards and newsgroups.
A message is unsolicited if the person did not ask for it or agree to it. It is also unsolicited if they would not expect it from an existing relationship with you. It makes no difference how you got their address, or whether it is a personal or a company address (for example sales@companyxyz.co.za).
Mail that does not clearly come from a sender the person agreed to hear from is unsolicited too. So is mail that seems to come from a third party or affiliate.
Examples of unsolicited messages
- Mail to bought lists, “safe lists” or harvested addresses, where the people did not agree to hear from you.
- Mail the person never asked for, where they have to opt out to stop it.
- A once-off invitation to receive more information that the person did not ask for.
- Mail to a list that includes people who don’t want it, or who asked to be removed and still get mail after a reasonable time.
If you run a mailing list, keep a record of each person’s request and consent, and give every recipient a way to unsubscribe.
If we receive a spam complaint, we may ask you to show that the person agreed to hear from you. We may also ask when and where you recorded their address.
We may suspend or close the account of anyone who sends spam, with or without notice, in line with our terms and conditions.
If you break this policy, you are liable for the costs it causes Blue Digital, in money and in reputation. We may charge the account holder a clean-up fee and any blacklist-removal charges. We decide the amount of the clean-up fee.
Spam sent from another service that refers to our services (such as our mailboxes, autoresponders or web pages) is also grounds for suspension or closure. If your website was hacked and used to send spam, we will be more lenient. If the same website or account is exploited again, we may suspend or close it.
Offensive content
You may not publish any of the following on our hosting, or link to it:
- Pornographic, sexually explicit or violent content.
- “Hate” sites, or content that could reasonably be seen as discriminatory in any way, including on sex, race or age.
- Illegal content, including stolen copyrighted material.
- Content that is defamatory or invades someone’s privacy.
- Content involving theft, fraud, drug trafficking, money laundering or terrorism.
- Pirated software sites.
- Illegal gambling sites.
Your content must also follow the law, including the Films and Publications Act 65 of 1996.
If we decide, at our sole discretion, that your content breaks this policy or the law, we may take one or more of these steps:
- Ask you to remove it immediately.
- Ask you to change it.
- Suspend or end your access to any service, without notice.
- Delete the content, without notice.
- Report it to the relevant authorities, if the law requires it or otherwise. We may also keep any copies the authorities need, share the parts of your data they ask for, and take any further steps they require.
Misuse of account features
Your account features are for your own websites. Use them only to build and run the websites on that account.
You may not run a service that:
- gives third parties access to an account feature for anything other than normal access to that account’s website;
- enables or helps third parties to act anonymously or abusively;
- affects the stability or reliability of any of our servers or network, harms other users or Blue Digital, or lowers the quality of service.
You may not resell the multiple domains on your hosting plan to anyone else. They are for the profile owner’s own websites.
Shared systems and resources
On shared hosting, many websites share the same servers. You may not use them in a way that disrupts their normal operation or takes more than a fair share of their resources. Examples are excessive server hits, bandwidth or disk use, and inefficient scripts or database queries.
If your resource use harms other customers on shared hosting, we may suspend your account. In most cases, the limits below do not apply to Managed Servers.
On our shared servers, you may not do any of the following by any means, including cron jobs, CGI scripts and interactive commands:
- Run a process that needs more than 50 MB of memory.
- Run a program that needs more than 30 CPU seconds.
- Run more than 10 processes at the same time.
- Send mail to more than 500 recipients in one hour. That means one email to 500 people, 500 separate emails, or any mix of the two.
- Send or receive a file larger than 20 MB by email.
If you send bulk mail over the 500-recipient limit on our shared systems, we will deactivate your account. This applies whether or not the mail is spam.
Only the Basic hosting plan or higher may run custom server-side CGI scripts. You may not run CGI scripts for other sites or services. These limits stop runaway scripts on an unattended server. Processes that use a lot of memory or CPU slow down every site on the server.
Interactive web applications, such as chat, are not allowed on our shared systems. They belong on a Managed Server.
MySQL databases come with the Basic hosting plan and higher:
- Each plan is limited to the database quota in our published plan details.
- Each database may use up to 5 GB of disk space.
- You may not store websites inside a database to get around your plan’s disk space.
- Databases may only be used with websites hosted with Blue Digital. Access from outside our network is only for site and database development.
- Each database user may have up to 10 connections at the same time.
- You may not store binary files, such as images or application files, in a database. Store them in your account and link to them from the database.
- If a database harms a database server or other databases on it, we may ask you to change it or move it to another server. In extreme cases, we may disable it.
Cron jobs (tasks that run automatically at set times, from a “crontab” file you set up) are allowed on our servers, with these limits:
- Only on the Basic hosting plan or higher.
- A job may not run more often than every two hours.
- A job that is likely to use a lot of CPU should run at a lower CPU priority.
- Automatic monitoring enforces these resource limits. They do not apply to Managed Servers, as long as the job does not stop us managing the server for you.
Server-side processes
Apart from cron jobs (see Shared systems and resources), you cannot install or run a stand-alone, unattended server-side process (a daemon) on our servers. If you do, we will close your account immediately, without warning. This does not apply to Managed Servers, as long as the process does not stop us managing the server for you.
This rule exists to:
- protect the CPU and memory on each server;
- keep systems secure, by not letting unapproved third-party programs accept connections from outside.
On Managed Servers, disks under constant high load put the server’s stability at serious risk. Our monitoring alerts us when this happens. We will then let you know and suggest how to fix it.
After three notices, if there is no sign that you have reduced the load, we stop sending alerts about that server. Your website and email may then stop responding if resources are not freed up.
Internet abuse
You may not use our network for illegal, abusive or irresponsible behaviour. This includes:
- accessing or using data, services, systems or networks without permission;
- probing, scanning or testing a system or network for weaknesses, or getting past its security or sign-in, without the owner’s express permission;
- monitoring data or traffic on any network or system without the owner’s permission;
- interfering with service to any user, host or network, for example by mail bombing, flooding, deliberately overloading a system or broadcast attacks;
- using an internet account or computer without the owner’s permission;
- collecting information by deceit, including scams that trick people into giving their passwords, password theft, phishing, security-hole scanning and port scanning;
- using our service to distribute software that secretly collects or sends information about a user;
- anything that is likely to lead to retaliation against our network;
- anything likely to break applicable laws, codes or regulations, such as the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Breaking it can lead to a fine or imprisonment;
- knowingly or intentionally introducing a virus or other harmful program into our service;
- not scanning what you download from the web with up-to-date antivirus software;
- forging email or other messages, trading in pirated software, or port scanning and using similar tools;
- using our services to publish or spread information about pirated software or other illegally available material, including lists of links to it, whatever the disclaimer.
We do not condone illegal material or behaviour. You must also follow the acceptable use policies of any network or system you connect to through our service.
If we detect inappropriate activity, we will deactivate all of that user’s accounts until we finish investigating. We may not warn you first. In extreme cases, we will contact law enforcement.
Security
Take reasonable security precautions. Carelessness can get websites hacked and mailboxes taken over, through unsafe computers, outdated website software or weak passwords. That can hurt other Blue Digital customers through blacklisting, phishing or spam.
Keep the scripts and programs on your account secure and up to date, however they were installed. You are also responsible for setting folder permissions correctly. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including anything done with stolen login details.
You must use a secure password. If we find a weak password, we will tell you and give you time to change it. If you don’t change it and your website is hacked as a result, we may suspend or close your account.
A password should have at least 11 characters, mixing letters and numbers in upper and lower case. Don’t use a common word, and change your passwords regularly. If there is abuse, we may reset a password.
Disk usage
We monitor disk space and bill automatically for going over your quota.
Accounts with very many files slow servers down. Our limit is 200 000 files per account, or 50 000 files per folder. Each email, web page, image and folder counts as a file. Files and folders over the limit are left out of our backups.
Our servers are not personal storage. Everything you store must belong to your website or websites.
Mailboxes that fill up with email nobody reads, such as catch-all or bounce mailboxes, are not allowed. A common cause is a catch-all address that is switched on while nobody checks the main mailbox. Over time, tens of thousands of messages build up and push the account past the file limit.
You may not keep email older than five years on the server.
Our hosting plans have a disk quota. Where it applies, we email you each month about domains that are over their quota. That gives you time to free up space or move to a bigger plan before over-usage charges apply.
You can check your disk use at any time in the control panel, under Statistics & Reports, Disk Usage. It shows your total use and the size of each folder.
An automated system tracks over-usage, tells you about it and charges for it. This keeps our hosting efficient and lets you manage your own disk space.
On Managed Servers, a disk that is nearly full puts the server’s stability at serious risk. Our monitoring alerts us when this happens. We will then let you know and suggest how to fix it.
After three notices, if there is no sign that you have freed up enough space, we stop sending alerts about that server. Your website and email will stop responding once the disk is full.
Traffic usage
Our traffic allowance is generous, but it is subject to reasonable use.
Our hosting plans and Self-Managed Servers have no set traffic quota. Every customer must follow this policy, which keeps our servers and network running well for everyone.
You may not use our hosting plans or Volume Plan mainly for online file storage, archiving files, streaming large amounts of video or hosting music.
Some services need a conversation with us before we host them on a server or colocation. Examples include:
- public mirror services for general use;
- any website or service whose main purpose is to drive or redirect traffic from one network to another;
- reselling bandwidth or network capacity as internet access to end users.
To discuss what you need, email info@bluedigital.com.
Combined traffic quotas
You cannot combine the traffic quotas of Managed Servers that work together to deliver one service.
We measure traffic per IP address and tell you about any excessive use, so traffic cannot be pooled across several servers.
Internet-bound traffic from a colocation network should not be routed through a Self-Managed Server or network. An example is a video-processing system that needs many servers, including database, backup and redundancy servers. The quotas of several servers on our network cannot be combined.
Other examples that can create high traffic:
- Very popular websites (for example news24.com)
- Large software-as-a-service (SaaS) platforms
- Servers for mass downloads, or caching proxies
- Mass mail services (for example a free webmail service)
- Shared hosting
- Cloud hosting platforms
Most of our customers stay well within normal combined usage. If we see a pattern of excessive use, we will contact you to agree on what to do. If you have concerns, email info@bluedigital.com.
Self-managed servers
Our Self-Managed Servers have no set traffic quota, but you must follow this whole policy.
A server that uses traffic outside this policy may be slowed down at peak times. If we see a pattern of excessive use, we will limit its connection speed.
We monitor each customer’s total upload and download volume to find disproportionate use. This policy only limits connection speed. It does not limit how long you stay connected, or your total download or upload volume.
We may limit connection speed under this policy. Blue Digital is not liable to you or anyone else for any loss or damage arising from, or in any way related to, that limit.
